Getting right with God
Do you know where you will spend eternity? Are your sins forgiven?
Consider what the Bible says about God and about you.
- We are all sinners. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ... There is none who does good, no, not one” (Romans 3:23, 12). Everyone who has ever lived (except Jesus Christ – 1 Peter 2:22) has sinned against God. This is how God sees you.
- Death is the penalty for sins. “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). As surely as we have sinned, death is the sentence for those sins. This is how God must judge sins.
- Jesus Christ took the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). Since Jesus Christ lived a sinless life (1 Corinthians 5:21), God punished Him for our sins. He was our Substitute! This is how God can forgive your sins.
- Accept Christ as your Savior. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). All you must do is admit to God that you are a sinner, believing that Jesus died for your sins. This is how you can get right with God.
