Tell Of God’s Love

God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord … but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God. —2 Timothy 1:7-8 NASB95

Everywhere we look there is sin and there are sinners. The Lord said, “The harvest is great and the workmen are few” (Mt. 9:37 JND ). Why so few? Is it because we are afraid to witness for the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Do you fear witnessing because you do not feel confident enough in your powers or in your ability to answer the many questions that might arise? However, the power is not in us but in God! You may have thought that a lost soul could not be born again by hearing of Christ Jesus from your lips, but to think that way is not humility – it is doubting the power of God. He used a donkey (Num. 22:28-31), a rooster (Mt. 26:34) and a burning bush (Ex. 3:2), and He can surely use you! Never doubt the power of God to add His blessing upon your words whenever you speak of Christ Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, when we are born again we are not to sit idly by, nor to preach to just each other, but we are also to share the gospel of salvation with those who are lost. Just take a few minutes and get out of your secure zone behind the walls of the place where you worship. Be like our Lord and Savior, and walk among sinners, telling them of God’s love. And tell them especially of Jesus’ love and the salvation He offers.
