Like Eagles!

Those who hope in the Lord will ... soar on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31

The eagle is a universal symbol of strength and fearlessness. His powerful wings attain heights unreachable by other creatures. His noble bearing makes him king of the birds and the skies. The Bible compares him to those who trust God: “Praise the L ORD ... who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Ps. 103:2, 5 NIV ).

God guarantees the safety of those who submit to His protection. He doesn’t take away the trials and troubles of life, but He manages them for our good. Moses compared God’s faithful care to the eagle teaching her chicks to fly. She “stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions” (Dt. 32:11). She exposes them to danger – rousting them out of the nest into empty space – but she comes beneath and spares them fatal falls.

The old prophet Isaiah said: “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isa. 40:30-31).

His words remind me of the Lord Jesus Christ’s invitation: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt. 11:28). We all get tired from the stress and the demands of life. Wouldn’t you like to give yourself to Jesus and find perfect rest in Him? We can tell you how.

The Bible promises: “To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (Jn. 1:12). If you receive Jesus as your Savior, you’ll become, not an eaglet, but a child of God! And God takes care of His children almightily and eternally!
