Can We Get to Heaven?

Some people don’t even know where to start. They look around and see many religions—all claiming to be the way to heaven. Could it be they are all wrong? Maybe there is no way to heaven. Maybe we can’t get there from here. Maybe after death, there is nothing but just cold and dark forever.
But, NO!

There Is One Way

There is one way, and that way is Jesus Christ. He is the only one who said:

"I am going to heaven to prepare a place for you, and then I will come back and take you there."
— John 14:3

He is also the only one who declared:

"I am the way" to heaven.
— John 14:6

He proved it when He rose from the dead and went back to heaven (Acts 1:1-9).

God’s Plan

The Bible says,

“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
— John 3:16

Before there was a world, a man, a fly, or even a microbe, there was God, and He had a plan!

God knew when He created the world and us that we would become bad—that we would lie, steal, cheat and hurt one another. And even if we don’t do any of these things, the Bible says:

"There is none righteous, no, not one."
— Romans 3:10

The Consequence of Sin

Every time we disobey our parents, do something wrong, or even say something bad about someone, we sin. God cannot stand sin. But because He loves us, He provided a way to wash us from all our sins.

To accomplish this, a sinless person had to die for sinners. The Bible says:

“without shedding of blood there is no remission (forgiveness of sins).”
— Hebrews 9:22

And since all people are sinful, from the beginning of time until now, God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to the world to suffer, bleed and die on a cross for us.

Think of it!

God’s Sacrifice

God’s Son gave His life for you and me. Why? Because He loves us and wants to be our Savior and our Friend. He wants us to talk with Him now, then live with Him in heaven forever.

Remember, you don’t need religion to get in touch with God or to get to heaven. But you do need a relationship with God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. If you will simply accept Him as the only way to heaven and turn away from your sins, you will be made new and acceptable to God. You will have the joy and peace of knowing you will be in heaven with Him for eternity.

But don’t take my word for it. Read the Bible, beginning with John’s gospel. Learn about Jesus for yourself and trust Him as your Savior. Then I’ll see you in heaven.
