Plenty, If You Ask Me! According to the Bible, the end of the age is almost upon us! The “Great Tribulation” — a time of unparalleled trouble and disaster — is just around the corner.
But before that, all genuine, born-again Christians are going to be “caught up … in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17–18). All Christians will be taken to heaven before God judges the earth.
After this, the wrath of God will be poured out on this unrepentant world. The Bible says that will be a terrible time:
“On the earth distress of nations … men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken” (Luke 21:25–26).
It also tells us:
“In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them … For the great day of His (God’s) wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Revelation 9:6; 6:17).
After this, the Lord Jesus Christ will return in power and great glory to set up His kingdom on the earth. People who think God is dead or asleep have a dreadful awakening ahead of them!
The Most Important Thing is to be ready - to have your sins forgiven and really know Christ as your Savior. It is going to be unspeakable horror for those who are not ready. If you face God in your sins, it will be too late then to do anything about it:
“The Lord Jesus [will be] revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:7–8).
Why not get ready today?
We are all sinners in the sight of God and cannot possibly save ourselves (Ephesians 2:8–9). The only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ, who shed His precious blood for us on Calvary’s cruel cross:
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree” (1 Peter 2:24).
“The blood of Jesus Christ His (God’s) Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Will you confess your sinfulness to Jesus Christ and receive Him as your very own Savior? If you do, you will be saved from sin and its consequences — that horrible tribulation which is coming on the earth. You will be with Jesus Christ in heaven. Do it now and you will be ready for what’s coming!
